Michael Hitchcock KFTW TO KNFW TO 50F TO KNFW TO KFTW Sat Fly wRay. From 11s to SW. depart N (wind 320 @14g19). Later tower call our turn to W and then S. Radio work- find nearest (Navy). Clearance from W to E). 180 autos. Demonstrated by Ray first. Most important: good auto. U can have good auto w bad landing spot and survive. U won’t survive if u have a bad auto even if good landing spot. AUTO ENTRY most important. Enter auto at any speed. Establish auto. Watch R rpm’s. Turn later. Last is: into the wind (preferable). But, better to land w slight crosswind and good landing spot. Worked on steep approaches and determining good landing spots (which ones I will make and which ones I will not make). EP practice. Land immediately vs land as soon as practicable. Found airport 50F-Borland Airport (Nearest on radio). Crossed centerline (self announce). Then, 180 auto to runway. Called base to final runway 35. On the way back flew thru Navy (W to E transition). Flew S of field. Saw f-18 land. Navy said fly E they would call our turn to N. Meacham tower- said to call call them 2 miles to final on B taxiway. When we landed it was gusting to 29k. Take off N, they called our E turn. Back to AM Aero. Also worked on trim strings-pedals and then minor side cyclic. ALTITUDE W collective. AIRSPEED w cyclic.
